The television and film industry contributes
around $34 billion to the state economy every year.
Lower production costs in other states and countries
have caused many productions to move out of California
in recent years, taking their jobs with them.
“We want to make California again the entertainment
capital of the world,” said Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
“There are so many people that are out of work in
Hollywood. People want jobs.”
